Boating Information

If you have received a boating and wildlife citation, you can pay the citation or request a court hearing.

If the citation is not in the system and you are unable to process your payment by phone, you are still responsible to satisfy the citation within 30 days of issue date either by mail or in person.

Failure to satisfy the citation within 30 days from the date the citation was issued will result in a $20 late penalty and a court hearing date will be set before a judge.

Pay by Mail
Mail your copy of the citation(s) with the Boating & Wildlife Citation Payment form. 
 
You may pay by check or money order. Cash is not accepted by mail.

Pay in Person
You can pay in person at our Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building by scheduling an appointment. Deputy Clerks are available to assist you Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m, excluding County holidays.

Subsequent violations can result in larger fine amounts. 
  • Fishing/Hunting License - $72, fine amount will vary depending on type of required license 
  • State Park Violation - $80, fine amount will vary depending on type of violation
  • BUI/Refusal to Submit/Breath - $500

To request a court hearing, you can fax, email, or mail a completed  Request for Court Hearing Form  with a copy of your citation to :

If at your court hearing it is determined that an infraction has been committed, the court may impose a civil penalty not to exceed $500 in addition to applicable court costs. 

Pursuant to F.S. (327.73), any person who fails to appear or otherwise properly respond to a uniform boating citation shall in addition to the charge relating to the violation of the boating laws of this state, be charged with the offense of failing to respond to such citation and, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree.
